Nutrition in Our Home Child Care

This service is part of the home-based day care services offered at Lilybug Learning. To learn more about our overall approach to care and learning, visit our Day Care Services page.

Nutrition

At Lilybug Learning, nutrition is an important part of a child’s daily routine and overall well-being. Children are offered meals and snacks that support healthy growth, energy, and learning throughout the day.

Healthy Eating Habits

Good nutrition plays a key role in early childhood development. Meals and snacks are planned to encourage balanced eating habits and to expose children to a variety of foods in a positive, supportive environment.

  • Meals and snacks are prepared with care and attention to nutritional balance
  • Children are encouraged to explore new foods at their own pace
  • Healthy eating habits are supported through daily routines

Accommodating Individual Needs

Lilybug Learning recognizes that some children may have specific dietary needs. When required, reasonable accommodations can be made to support children with food sensitivities or special dietary considerations.

Families are encouraged to communicate any nutritional needs or concerns so that appropriate arrangements can be discussed.

Positive Mealtime Experiences

Mealtimes are treated as an opportunity for learning and social interaction. Children are encouraged to enjoy meals together in a calm, relaxed setting that supports independence and positive food experiences.

Through consistent routines and supportive guidance, children learn skills such as self-feeding, table manners, and listening to their own hunger cues.
