These learning areas are introduced naturally through play and guided routines as part of our Day Care Programs.

Learning and Development

Education opportunities play an important role in supporting a child’s academic, social, and emotional development. At Lilybug Learning, learning is supported through everyday activities, play, and guided routines that help children build confidence and independence.

Social and Emotional Development

Education opportunities more than just coloring and pasting. In addition to teaching young children their ABCs and how to cut, color, and paste, preschool activities also prepares children socially as well as academically. It is also an opportunity to adjust to school, teachers, and other children.

During these early years, young children begin learning how to self-regulate, sit still, and listen as directions are given. These early experiences help children develop focus, patience, and early problem-solving skills.

Building Early Learning Skills

Simple skills such as cutting may seem insignificant to adults, but they are important fine motor skills that support readiness for school. Similarly, activities such as dancing in a circle to music and playing with building blocks help children develop balance, coordination, and body awareness.

Circle time is a positive activity where children first learn formal social skills. They learn to take turns speaking and sharing by raising their hands, and they begin to understand how to express themselves appropriately and respectfully.

Preschool is also where children learn about good manners and making positive choices, particularly during daily routines such as snack time, where they practice asking to be excused and cleaning up after themselves.

Developing Independence and Confidence

One of the most important lessons for young children is learning how to be self-sufficient. A educational environment not only supports children when needed but also encourages them to try things independently and build confidence in their abilities.

By the time children begin kindergarten, they have gained valuable academic and social skills that give them a strong foundation for future learning. Preschool is a vital part of a young child’s academic and social development.
